George Darko’s 40 Days Observance slated for May 1

On May 1, 2024, the family, music enthusiasts and fans of the late King of Burger Highlife, George Darko will gather to observe the 40-day memorial period following his passing.

The observance service will be held at the Salem Park in Akropong Akuapem at 8 am. This was made known by the family of the late crooner.

George Darko, a luminary in the Ghanaian Highlife music scene, left an indelible mark on the industry with his innovative blend of traditional rhythms and contemporary sounds.

He was well-known for his skills as a guitarist, vocalist, composer, and songwriter.

Until his death on March 20, the late George Darko was the Tufuhene of Akropong Akuapem with the title Nana Apem Darko I.

For many, the 40-day observation will be a chance to honor Darko’s memory and express gratitude for the joy and inspiration his music brought into their lives.

It will be a time of unity, as people from all walks of life come together to celebrate the life and legacy of a true music legend.
