Get Familiar: Hiplife newcomer, Frama 4 means business + exclusive listen of 'Never Give Up'
Hiplife newcomer, Frama 4 is full of drive to succeed in the Ghanaian music industry; and with an exciting banger with Dr Cryme, he may well be on his way to achieving that. The single, ‘Medekuku’ (which means please in Ewe) mixes Frama 4’s unusual use of rhyming with Dr Cryme’s signature swag together with a pulsating beats and rythyms of producer, Kemenya (Overtime Studios) to produce a sound that should get Ghanaians bumping to it! Frama 4 explains: “It basically says that you have to be patient in life when you are pursuing you dreams. It’s a love song saying that if you find someone you love you must be patient, humble and determined to fight for their love. Dr Cryme is a big act to come by but music brings people together and so far as you have the talent it will come out, respects to Cryme!” Born Nana Danso Agyapong, Frama 4 came up with the moniker to reflect his belief in himself and the Holy Trinity and the myth of the wind which can be felt even without seeing it. He has been doing music for about eight years, and like most rappers, he started rapping at entertainment shows while at Akim Oda Secondary School, where he was an Entertainment Prefect or like he was often called, ‘the rap prefect’ He recounts his first time in a recording studio: “I don’t remember the year but I quite remember it was at Fiifi Brazy Studio in Lapaz, where I recorded my first song called ‘Obaa Sima’. It was a love song that I did for my school performance, so it wasn’t commercial and it was mainly just for fun”. Frama 4 has over the years honed his rap talent and today has several songs to his credit and an album on the cards. He currently has recording songs including collaborations with other African acts. Among them are ‘Never Give Up’ featuring Kemenya; ‘One More Time’ featuring Menace from Nigeria; and ‘Baby’ featuring Klekeli from Togo. The video for ‘Medekuku’ has aired on some Ghanaian TV and radio stations and Frama 4 is hoping it would soon enjoy massive rotations. He concludes: “I’m an up and coming artist with great vision, with new talent and I am bringing something different. I just want Ghanaians to love and embrace my music so we take it to the next level”. Watch Full Interview ]]>
