HAF and FYF commissions ultramodern Makerspace for AR/VR and robotics learning in Weija-Gbawe

The Helping Africa Foundation (HAF) and Friends of Yamoransa (FYF) Foundation on Saturday, November 21, 2020, commissioned an ultra-modern Makerspace facility at the L & A Memorial Academy in Weija-Gbawe constituency as part of their efforts to promote IT education in Ghana.

A makerspace is a collaborative work space inside a school, library or separate public/private facility for making, learning, exploring, and sharing that uses high tech to no tech tools.

The new L & A Academy Makerspace comprises a 3D printing section, a Robotics section, a section for Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality.

Speaking at the commissioning, Headmaster, of the school, Mr. Stephen Donkor challenged the students especially the females to use the equipment in the makerspace to create new and advanced tech stuff and improve their understanding of IT.

Miss Barbra Dzikunu, the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Director Of Education in speaking to Ameyaw TV commended  Helping Africa Foundation, Friends Of Yamoransah and Techaide Ghana for providing the facility in the constituency to help all students benefit.

The facility is an addition to the already existing ICT centre dedicated to the school by HAF on 13th July 2018. It also forms part of the 8 IT facilities to be commissioned by Helping Africa Foundation, Friends Of Yamoransah and Techaide Ghana this year.
