Hip-life is not dead, it has only changed- Obrafour
Ghana’s “Rap Sofour”, Obrafour has said that despite the influx of other genres of music in the Ghanaian music insustry, he believes the hip-life genre is still very much alive.
According to him, the genre is only going through some transformation and not entirely dead.
Speaking at the launch of the 20th anniversary of his first album, ‘Pae Mu Ka’, last Wednesday, he said:
“We are not dead, we are here and some of you are still here supporting. I believe we can’t say much because it is not sounding like it used to be. Now it has changed, even the content but this is how far we have come and we can’t be too hard on ourselves, we just have to thank God.”
Obrafour launched the 20th anniversary celebration of his ‘Pae Mu Ka’ album at the Tang Palace Hotel in Accra last Wednesday.
So many activities were announced to earmark the celebration. The main anniversary concert is scheduled for November 9 after a tour of the country.
