Renowned Ghanaian Dancehall musician, Emmanuel Andrews Samini, otherwise known as Samini, has expressed his disappointment at President Akufo-Addo for failing to deliver on his campaign promises.

The award-winning artist, who had previously shown support and campaigned for President Akufo-Addo has decided to take a different stance this time, sparking discussions and debates in the political and entertainment spheres.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz Fm, the ‘Linda’ hitmaker made known his reasons for supporting and campaigning for President Akufo-Addo during the 2020 general elections.

According to him, his endorsement was as a result of his desire to see the continuation of the governing party’s manifesto.

“Judging from where I’m sitting, I don’t think enough has been put in our sector as against what was said. Things like free SHS, one district one dam (1D1D), one district one factory (1D1F) for the farmers. I was more interested about the factories because I come from the North and the numbers we have over there if you have factories that can employ people,” he said.

Samini further expressed his disappointment with the incumbent government, stressing that Akufo-Addo’s manifesto had initially motivated him and his colleagues to rally behind the campaign. He asserted that not enough effort has been put into the music industry compared to what was sold to him during the 2020 campaign.
