Ghanaian dancehall and reggae sensation, Ras Kuuku has labelled songs promoted by dancers as “fried rice music.”

In a recent conversation on Daybreak Hitz, Ras Kuuku, explained that the norm of paying dancers to promote songs on social media is not feasible, and these dancers eventually treat said musicians with contempt.

When the songs they are paid to promote become hits, some dancers, according to Ras Kuuku, eventually demand credit.

“When you’re an artist and you continue doing ‘fried rice’ music, the dancers will come and tell you you’re lazy, they are the ones who made your songs popular”, he added.

Ras Kuuku expressed interest in working with artists who make good music, and not just focused on making trending songs.

“I want to work with people who write good music and Ras Kuuku is one of the best songwriters in Ghana, I don’t want to be doing ‘Fried Rice’ music”, he said.
