I have not given up on politics yet – Fred Nuamah
Although Ghanaian actor turned politician, Fred Nuamah withdrew from the upcoming NDC Ayawaso West-Wuogon parliamentary primaries, he hasn’t hanged his political boots just yet.
https://youtu.be/JtmwEgKSwQM Speaking in a recent interview on Graphic Showbiz, the C.E.O of Ghana Movie Awards,
According to Fred, his withdrawal did not signify the end of his political ambitions, but a short absence from the forefront of political activity.
“While my decision to pull back from the Ayawaso West-Wuogon NDC parliamentary primaries might indicate a temporary break from my political ambitions, it doesn’t necessarily mean that I have given up on politics. No!” he said.
He added that he is concerned and committed to his party, ready to make profound contributions to different areas within the political system.
“I will serve my party and Ghanaians in several ways and at different levels. The future will take care of itself,” he added.
Fred Nuamah’s decision to resign from the NDC’s Ayawaso West-Wuogon parliamentary election on August 7, 2023, came as a surprise.
Given his strong acquaintance, John Dumelo, who ran for the same seat in the previous general elections, the revelation not only made headlines but also raised eyebrows.

Nuamah’s decision was articulated in a personal letter directed to the party leadership. He emphasized that his choice to withdraw was a product of thorough consultations with key stakeholders and was devoid of any external influence.
In a letter addressed to the General Secretary of the NDC and the Chairman of the Ayawaso West Wuogon Chairman of the party, Nuamah stated:
“I firmly believe that the NDC must present a unified front for the 2024 general elections. As a dedicated member of the NDC, I prioritize the party’s unity and the President John Mahama project aimed at rescuing our country.”
