I have nothing to show after 23 years as a producer in the music industry – Quick Action

Published

on

Legendary Ghanaian music producer, Joseph Appiah, professionally known as Quick Action has opened up about his challenges after twenty-three years in the Ghanaian music industry.

Despite producing for many of Ghana’s top artistes, Quick Action feels he hasn’t reaped adequate financial rewards for his works.

In an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s ‘Showbiz A-Z,’ the renowned producer expressed feeling “bullied by the system” due to these struggles.
When asked if he had ever won any awards, he replied;
“No, but it hurts me because if I check myself from where I am coming from and what I’ve been through, with my educational background, and by the Grace of God, by the kind of achievements and impact I have made in the lives of some great people, it hurts me that I don’t even have anything to show.”
Although he doesn’t regret his music career, the producer who has produced music for artistes such as Cindy Thompson, Stonebwoy, Prince Bright, TiC, Samini, Kwadee, Kwaw Kese and Afro Moses laments losing focus at times.
Joseph Appiah further admitted that he pursued his work out of passion, often neglecting the financial aspects. He added, “Naturally, I am a giver; I would always want to see people progress through my help.”
 Quick Action is now venturing into gospel music and is preparing to release a gospel album soon.
