Ghanaian gospel music sensation, Diana Asamoah, has revealed that she was once a pupils teacher before venturing into music.

According to the ‘Tetelesta’ hitmaker, her father, who was also a teacher, influenced her career path after completing her elementary education in 1987.

Speaking during an exclusive interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, the renowned singer made it known that though she was not fluent in English, she taught the English Language subject, Geography, Twi and other subjects at St Monica’s School.

“When I completed school my father wanted me to learn how to sew clothes in Kumasi but he had not bought the sewing machine and other things I needed at that time so I thought of selling beans, soap and other items. However, he did not like the idea of me moving around people’s houses to sell. He feared that I could be raped. So I had to look for something else and then I ended up being a pupil’s teacher,” he said.

Interestingly, the singer divulged that none of the pupils she taught failed in their examinations.
