Good quality of fashion and health is paramount in one’s level of confidence and general performance in all endeavours. A major obstacle to resilience in terms of fashion, physical outlook and fitness among plus sized women in Ghana is their non-inclusion in fashion industry. Observations and several opinion polls showed that plus sized women in Ghana feel neglected and somewhat stigmatised in terms of fashion and physical outlook and fitness. This is certainly as a result of plus sized women’s inability to choose from a wide range of garb designed to fit their sizes, taste and preferences. The “it’s a big deal Show” is to collaborate with stakeholders in fashion and health to better enhance quality fashion for plus sized women. It is determined to add value to the style of fashion for plus sized women and also to unleash the seemingly stigma among plus sized women in Ghana. The use of professionals and expert in the world of fashion and health will help to provide guidance. The “it’s a big deal Show” is a unique concept and can be capitalised upon as a viable way to satisfy the fashion taste and health needs of plus sized women in Ghana. A young, beautiful and enterprising  lady, Naa Dena Dedei Adams, born on the 6th of November 1983 in Accra attended Ridge Church School in Accra for her primary education and then proceeded to Mfantsiman Girls Secondary School where she studied visual arts. She then continued to the University of Ghana where she studied political science, and later did a diploma in marketing at GIMPA.  She loves reading, researching and relaxing. However, fashion has always been a part of her ever since she was a teenager.  She made her own sketch pads out of old calendars and carried it around. As she grew older, she developed her unique skills in drawing and fashion which she made her stand out of the crowd. Her frustration with finding the right dress after endless visits to random shops across town was the catalyst that helped shape her skills as a designer.  Since she loves to look good but was not getting what she wanted, she decided to do something that would help others like her who felt left out in the fashion and style department. To fill this fashion vacuum, she decided to organize a fashion show dubbed “ it’s a big deal show” to cater to stylish plus sized women. The fashion show which will come off in February, 2013 will be among the much anticipated events of the coming year. However, Auditions will come off this Saturday  ,29th September,2012  at Unique Floral Gardens inside Trade Fair between 9:00am-4:00pm This Fashion show, with the help of House of Jael intends to be the number one stop shop for the plus size health and fashion needs. They have trained nutritionist, cosmetologist, hair stylist as well as fashion accessories like shoes and bags to help in this regard.  They aim to promote curvy figures as beautiful and also to remove the notion that you have to be a stick figure to be beautiful and sexy. In the coming year, the fashion show will feature more designers who focus on plus size category as well as expanding to the other regions in Ghana.]]>
