Joshua Owusu Effriyie represents Ghana on Project Fame West Africa

Published

joshua PorjectFame20 year old aspiring musician, Joshua Owusu Effriyie became the only Ghanaian to qualify into the Project Fame West Africa academy on the opening night on Sunday. The charming Joshua may not be a stranger to the world of music talent shows; he was one-third of the group, Waves, which came third in the ‘Vodafone Icons: Mixed Edition’ this year.  Joshua who plays the saxophone,  guitar and keyboard will battle for the ultimate prize against singers from Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Liberia. Past Project Fame West Africa winners Monica and Iyanya, and Chuddy K kicked off MTN Project Fame Season 5 opening in grand style. After auditions in ten major cities in West Africa, the eighteen finalists sang their hearts out to convince the judges to give them a ticket into the highly coveted fifteen spaces in the Project Fame academy. The contestants came out one after the other determined to sing their way into the Academy, the audience was swept off in awe of the contestants as they all displayed their very best in all of their performances. Like a star, ready to fly they came out displaying their very best. Having raised the bar so high and with very high class performances the judges, which now includes Ade Bantu, were left with a not-so-easy task of analyzing their performances and also determining who stays and who leaves. Then came the moment that all contestants dread so much came and after all said and done, Daniel from Sierra Leone, Roland from Ilorin and Anthony from Lagos bowed out of Project Fame season 5 stage leaving the race to the other fifteen contestants who in the next ten weeks will face the faculty in the academy, battling their way to fame and fortune. Who will be the next name in Project Fame Hall of fame? Who again will emerge as the winner? Project Fame West Africa shows on Metro TV 5:30 pm from Monday –Friday, 8-9pm on Saturdays, and 7:30-9pm on Sundays. Highlights will be available on YouTube www.youtube.com/projectfametv]]>
