Kesse, one of Ghana’s representatives in the ongoing Project Fame West Africa talent show, brought Sunday evening’s  gala show to a glorious end with his fantastic rendition of Nigerian singer, Asa’s ‘So Beautiful’. Asa who was a guest judge on the gala show was full of praise for Kesse adding that the performance was so good that it reminded her of the reason for writing the song.

“You made me remember how much I love my mum. I wrote this song for my mother, not just my mother but all mothers”, commented the award winning singer. In addition to these warm comments, Kesse also charmed the audience to a standing ovation and managed to get them to dance to the swinging bridge at the tail end of the song.

Kesse who is better known in Ghana as Mike in Ghana, won the fourth season of TV3’s singing competition, Mentor and has a single with a music video out already. The talented singer is joined by another former reality TV contestant, Christian from Stars of The Future to represent Ghana in the Nigerian dominated contest. There are other contestants from Sierra Leone and Liberia.

All 12 contestants performed songs by either Tracey Chapman or Asa and gave a pretty amazing account of their talent on the night. However, two of them would be eliminated on the live eviction show next weekend. This would be the first eviction since the third season of Project Fame West Africa started. The 5 contestants with the least amount of public votes would be up for eviction on Saturday. The judges would save one, the teachers would save another and the contestants would save the last; the remaining two would then leave the academy.
