Japan is set to host the Olympic Games from  July 23 to August 8, 2021, if the global sporting spectacle is not cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic!

One entrepreneur planning to capitalise on the games, is Japan-based Ghanaian businessman, Kobe Opoku Amanfo, who has been leaving his imprint on the nightlife and hospitality industry of Japan for some years now.

Kobe Opoku joined his father, Frank Anthony Amanfo in Japan some 15 years ago, and now they are business partners in the popular lounge and dining bar, R2 Supperclub, located in Roppongi, Tokyo. With the success of the lounge and dining bar, Kobe feels ready to explore the opening of a nightclub now.

He told Ameyaw TV, “I am about to open one of the biggest nightclub in Tokyo. We just signed a contract for that.”

But making all these strides in Japan, hasn’t been without challenge. “When I first moved here, the major challenge I faced was racial discrimination. But 15 years now, I think I have gotten to a point in my where it doesn’t bother me anymore because I have adapted to the culture and my friends have accepted me,” Kobe explains.
