Perhaps drawing on special ceremonies in the West such as the BET Honours, top Ghanaian artists including Kwaw Kese, Kofi B, Mzbel, Castro, Praye, Wutah, Kofi Nti, Felix Owusu, RANA, K. K Fosu, and others have been billed to perform various songs from the legendary Charles Kwadwo Fosu aka Daddy Lumba at the maiden edition of the ‘The Legends And Legacy Ball’ slated for the Accra International Conference Centre is expected to be rocked on Saturday, November 12.

The event, by Imajin Advertising in collaboration with Adom FM is an annual event that seeks to honour Ghanaian music legends while they are alive.  The honouree for the maiden edition, Daddy Lumba or DL who will be presented with a plaque and other awards in recognition of his hard work, success and contribution to the entertainment industry in Ghana. Lumba will also see some musicians that he mentored and inspired performing his songs on the night and as well get to perform alongside some of them.

Daddy Lumba is excited and grateful for the recognition given to him and has noted that he has been on the quiet for some time now attending to personal issues. He thanked the organizers of the event for the opportunity to perform his greatest hits to his fans and music lovers who have not seen him for a while. The singer also added that he has started rehearsing feverishly for the concert in order to give off his best.

Daddy Lumba burst onto the music scene in the 1980s producing 27 albums in his illustrious career. He has disclosed that, on the night of the concert, he will release his 28th album titled ‘Ko shi Po’. Daddy Lumba was the brain behind musicians such as Felix Owusu, Ofori Amponsah, Papa Shee among others. He is also credited to have influenced musicians such as KK Fosu, Kofi Nti, Kofi B, Nana Wusu and Amaba. Lumba featured and collaborated with hiplife artistes like Borax, Bradez, Sarkodie, Okyeame Kwame, Samini and Hi-life musicians like Kwabena Kwabena and Pat Thomas.
