Virgin Atlantic has announced its biggest ever investment into the business class product, as it pledged £100million over the next three years to enhance its Upper Class offering around the world. As part of the investment, on board flights from Accra to London, a brand new Upper Class ‘fine dining’ experience will take to the skies from March 1. Influenced by some of the best British restaurants and private members clubs, the new Upper Class dining service has been completely redesigned and customers will enjoy customised menus, with local delicacies such as Spicy Chicken stew with steamed rice and palava sauce. A new Virgin Atlantic icon will be revealed – a champagne ‘coupe’ glass made famous in the golden age of Hollywood – to serve the welcome drink, toasting the journey ahead. Another great British tradition, afternoon tea, will also be served on individual mini cake stands.
The launch of other new business class products will commence on Virgin’s Atlantic’s London Heathrow to New York JFK service with highlights including a new upper class cabin, an enhanced seat, a futuristic bar and many other cabin updates to give passengers a unique flying experience. A new multi million pound Clubhouse at the John F Kennedy airport will also be launched later in the year.Making the announcement, Virgin Atlantic Chief Executive Steve Ridgway said: “Virgin Atlantic is famous for its pioneering product, and this investment will again establish our position as the leader in airline innovation and customer experience. Our new Upper Class dining service is unmistakably ‘Virgin’ and one that we know our passengers in Accra will enjoy.” In developing its new Upper Class products, Virgin Atlantic recruited groups of its most frequent fliers to test the ideas and feed into their development – even allowing some to try out the beds with an overnight stay in the airline’s test facility. Each passenger will receive their own mini cake stands including finger sandwiches, a delicious selection of cake, and scones with jam and clotted cream. Cabin crew will fill passengers’ very own stylish mini cake stand with whatever passengers choose to enjoy, served with a fresh cafetiere of coffee or a selection of fine teas. Breakfasts will be completely customisable and because of the way it’s prepared we now offer a completely meat free English Breakfasts too. Having waved goodbye to our faithful Wilbur and Orville salt and pepper shakers, we are pleased to introduce a brand new Virgin Atlantic icon, a mini cocktail shaker. It snaps in half to form individual salt and pepper pots, using crushed peppercorns instead of finely ground pepper. The new Upper Class cabin will be launched on Virgin Atlantic’s new Airbus A330-300 aircraft, due for delivery later in the spring as part of a $2.2bn aircraft investment program. How to Legally Disclose Sponsored Content on YouTube
Sponsorships can be one of your most significant forms of income on YouTube. This makes it even more important to familiarize yourself with the rules around disclosures for sponsored content.
Every country has its own regulations about disclosing sponsored content, but the basics are the same. It is against the law in many places for a celebrity or influencer to persuade a consumer to purchase something without letting the consumer know they’ve been paid to promote the product or service.
It’s important to make sure your audience knows when you’ve been paid to promote a product, especially if you frequently review products without sponsorships. The success of your channel depends on the relationship you’ve built with your audience, so you should always put their best interest first.
Be transparent about your business relationship with your sponsor.
When you’re working with a company, make it obvious right off the bat. Use clear, easy-to-understand language. Speak or write as you normally would. Don’t just read off or copy and paste the legal disclaimer provided by the company. Instead, put it in your own words to make sure your viewers understand.
Sponsored videos are not the place for subtlety. Your viewers trust your opinion, so they should be aware of any outside factors influencing it. If they feel they’ve been misled, they won’t be interested in your future reviews or sponsored videos. Therefore, go out of your way to make it as obvious as possible that the video is sponsored.
Put the disclosure at the beginning of the video or post.
For a sponsored YouTube video, put your disclosure statement right after your intro. Say hi, then tell your viewers about the company you’re working with. Write it in the top of your video description as well. Some content creators also add a watermark in the corner of sponsored videos that says “ad.”
If you’re making a sponsored post, put your disclosure statement at the top. A hashtag at the end is not enough. Basically, your viewers or followers need to know as soon as they press play on a video or start reading your Instagram caption that the content is sponsored. If they don’t know it’s sponsored until the end, then they may feel as if they were misled. Again, your audience’s trust in you is important to your career, and following the regulations for sponsored content disclosure will ensure you prioritize that relationship.
Make the disclosure statement in the same format as the sponsored content.
When you make sponsored content, the disclosure must be in the same format as the content itself. For example, if it’s a video, then the disclosure must be a part of the actual video.
In a sponsored video, the disclosure statement must be verbal. Don’t put it only in the description or as a watermark in the corner of the video. Look directly into the camera and tell your viewers that you’re working with or partnering with the company. Tell them if you were sent free products, as well.
For a sponsored post on social media, having the disclosure in your caption should suffice. However, if you’re posting a short or story, then include a text overlay that says “sponsored.”
Check the exact legal requirements for your country.
Now that you’re familiar with the basics of disclosing sponsored content, be sure to check out the exact legal requirements for your country. Laws vary by region, so research requirements by state, province, or territory as well.
If you’re in the US, then you should research and bookmark the FTC handbook here. The agency takes consumer protection very seriously, so failing to disclose your relationship with a sponsor could land you in hot water.
In the UK, your regulations will come from the FCA, which has also created a handbook of regulations to help influencers like you. Any content creator may find these guidelines helpful, so be sure to check out the FCA handbook here.
If your country doesn’t have specific guidelines of its own, base your disclosures off one of these.
When in doubt, put your audience first.
Overall, your audience’s best interest should be the first thing on your mind. If a sponsor insists that you try to skirt the rules about disclosure or mislead your viewers in some way, then don’t be afraid to walk away from the deal.
If you break your audience’s trust, then you may not be able to create successful sponsored content in the future. However, if you carefully disclose your sponsorships and only promote products you love, then you’ll be in good shape.
Sponsored content comes with ethical ramifications as well as legal. Think about the influence your choices can have on your impressionable viewers. If an influencer you admire posted about your sponsor, how would you feel about the product? Consider the image and values a sponsor represents before making the post.
Sponsored content can be a significant way for YouTubers to make their income. Make sure you follow the proper legal guidelines and there’s virtually no limit to how much you can make through sponsored content.

Natives of Keta donate food items to Tidal Waves victims
Chief Executive Officer of Empire Domus, Emmanuel Kojo Jones Mensah in collaboration with the office of former National Health Insurance Authority boss, Mr. Sylvester Mensah, as natives of Keta, have donated items worth thousands of cedis to the displaced Keta tidal waves victims.
The ceremony which took place on Tuesday 23rd November at the forecourt of the Keta Municipal Assembly comes at the back of the recent tidal waves in Keta which destroyed several properties and rendered hundreds of households homeless.
The municipal assembly on behalf of the victims received items including packs of noodles, bags of rice, and packs of canned fish. As well, boxes of tomato paste, cartons of cooking oil, and bags of sachet water were donated to the victims as a means of support to cushion them in these hard times.
Speaking at the event the former NHIA boss Mr. Sylvester Mensah said he hoped their widow’s mite would help provide a little comfort to the displaced persons in all three coastal districts indicating that they might return with more support.
Mr. Emmanuel Mensah on his part said he was moved to join hands with his cousin for the donation as a result of words he heard from a distraught woman which said, “anytime I hear of waves, my heart beats” which he said conveyed the extent of the devastation of the sea on the people, to him.
He said the “token” was to show their concern and care for the people suffering the impact of an act of nature.
Mr. Emmanuel Gemegah, Municipal Chief Executive for Keta who received the donation on behalf of his two other colleagues from Ketu South and Anloga District thanked the donors for their thoughtfulness.
He prayed to God to replenish their stock so they could come back another time to support the victims and help rebuild our motherland.
