Jermain DupriA+E Networks’ channel, Lifetime®  – usually only available to Premium subscribers  –  is to be made accessible to DStv’s Compact subscribers from Friday, March 18 to Monday, April 4.  The two and a half week open window will see the broadcasting of a raft of new and exclusive shows, along with top-rated return titles that Compact subscribers will not have had access to previously. 

New and exclusive shows include:

  • Unbreak my Heart: The Toni Braxton Story, which will premiere on Sunday, March 27 at 20.00
  • The Jacksons: Next Generation, premieres Wednesday, March 16 at 20:45
  • Manson’s Lost Girls – premieres Sunday, April 3 at 20.00
  • Don’t Tell the Bride – premieres Monday, April 4 at 19:10
  • The Rap Game (preview) – which will be shown on Monday, March 28 at 20.45 (The full series will premiere in June)
  • Idris Elba: Mandela, My Dad and Me – shown on HISTORY last year, this one-off special will transmit on Lifetime on Wednesday, March 30 at 21.35
  • Marriage Bootcamp Reality Stars – the premiere of series 2 of this popular reality show starts April 1 at 20.00

Returning and current titles on Lifetime during the Open Window will include:

  • Cosby: The Women Speak – the top-rated documentary on the channel last year, will be shown again due to popular demand on Wednesday, March 23 at 21.35
  • Little Women LA (series 3 and 4)
  • Married at First Sight (series 2)
  • Four Weddings SA
  • Arranged
  • Atlanta Plastic
  • Dance Moms (series 6)

“Our Open Window weekend to Compact subscribers last year was incredibly successful,” says A+E Network Africa’s Regional Director Anthea Petersen, “with the Whitney Houston tribute movie premiered during that three day period being one of the top-rated viewing highlights of 2015.

” This time around we have 18 days to showcase the full schedule across the week, with plenty of strong premieres and ongoing series that will give Compact subscribers the chance to see what they’re missing,” adds Petersen.
