Listening to different sounds in America uniquely shaped my music- K William

America- based Ghanaian Afropop musician and C.E.O of Rising Phoenix Entertainment Group, Kweku William has disclosed that the US culture has in a way shaped his music.

K William, who doubles as the manager for Dance With Purpose (DWP) Academy USA, in an interview on Ameyaw TV’s’One on One, revealed that his unique way of making music was shaped by his exposure to different countries’ style of music.

“Yes, it has, listening to a lot of different sounds in America is like a very huge melting point so I have these Spanish friends, Nigerian friends, Asian friends and listening to what they have, I sometimes bring some of the things into my songs and it’s unique, some people will like it, some won’t like it but those around me will understand.

When asked by host Zeinat, if the target audience for his music is for his American audience or his home country Ghana, he said;

“I’ll say it’s a mix of both, I’m more focused on, so one thing I do is I just put it out there, whoever gravitates towards it, I will focus on, some songs have done well in Russia, some do well in New York city, some do well in Ghana.”

K William is well known in the African community for his high-energy personality and his back-to-back hit songs such as “Hooli”, “Dangerous”, “Vybration”, “Somebody Daughter” amongst others.

For him, the focus is not on being famous but to rather build structure and bridge the gap between the world and African creatives.
