Lupita Nyong’o and sister rock Duaba Serwa garments to the Wearable Arts Gala

Academy Award-winning actress, Lupita Nyong’o settled for an ensemble from Ghanaian designer, Duaba Serwa during her appearance at the Wearable Art Gala over the weekend.

The “Black Panther” star and her date for the night, her sister, both wore the signature Duaba Serwa origami textured garment for the night, showing off their rich Kenyan heritage.

Lupita was in attendance to present the Film & TV Icon Award to her “Black Panther” co-star, Angela Bassett.

A very excited Duaba Serwa, who could not hide her excitement shared photos of Lupita in her design with the caption;

“@lupitanyongo and @thelady_fi thank you so much for coming to our studio .. what a day !!! These amazing women are both wearing our signature origami textured garments to @mstinalawson wearable art gala.”

Duaba Serwa’s signature origami textured garment is definitely a hit; it has been worn by former France Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Anne Sophie Avé.
