Meet Dr. Kofi Nyarko-Pong, Valedictorian of the University of Ghana MBA Class of 2020

Congratulations are in order for Dr. Kofi Nyarko-Pong, who graduated as Valedictorian of the University of Ghana MBA Class of 2020.

For Dr Nyarko-Pong, stepping outside his sphere of influence and knowledge, out of his comfort zone to pursue an EMBA in finance, seemed like a daunting task.
But out of new challenges, emerge new champions!

In a period where he practiced medicine, built his part-time business, represented Ghana at the annual Oxford Aspen Summit, travelled round the world, while still attaining a 3.95 GPA, this achievement is truly remarkable.

Dr. Kofi Nyarko-Pong is a medical doctor by profession and a marketing entrepreneur and business builder by design. He completed his senior secondary education at the Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School, Legon in 2004 before receiving his BSc Medical Sciences and MB ChB. from the University of Ghana Medical School in 2012, graduating with honours in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He worked at the Emergency unit of the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital (Ghana’s premier hospital) in Accra for 5 years.

While practicing as a medical doctor, Dr. Nyarko-Pong saw an opportunity to broaden and deepen his impact on society and joined Max International as an independent associate in 2014. At Max International, he became the company’s first Diamond Associate in Africa and the founder and leader of Max DreamTeam. The team’s goal is to improve the health of individuals and create wealth via the development of strategic partnerships to build distribution networks for breakthrough health products. The team currently has several thousand members spread across four countries.

He currently serves on Max International Ghana’s advisory board and speaks frequently on many platforms as a success coach inspiring people to go after their dreams. Dr. Nyarko-Pong enjoys volunteering and has been involved in volunteering work both in Ghana and across the world. Kofi also holds a Ghana Securities Industry Certificate from the Ghana Stock Exchange and also a member of the Ghana Medical Association and Kwahu Professionals Network.

In June 2019, after an extremely competitive selection process, the University of Oxford, Saïd Business School, in collaboration with The Aspen Institute US, granted Kofi a place at the 2019 edition of the Aspen Leadership Seminar as Ghana’s representative. The seminar held annually, challenges participants who have demonstrated exceptional leadership potential, to live and lead philosophically.

Dr. Nyarko-Pong has varied interests; from his love of music, to photography, to being an avid soccer and basketball fan, to travelling around the world and experiencing different cultures. He is also a blockchain and cryptocurrency fanatic.

Kofi just completed his EMBA program in finance at the University of Ghana Business School where he graduated as Valedictorian. His interest lies at the nexus of healthcare, leadership, wealth creation and social change. Dr. Kofi Nyarko-Pong lives in Accra, and is married to Nana Ama Asiedua.
