Kwasi ‘Beast’ Opoku, a multifaceted entrepreneur with talents ranging from hosting, modeling, acting, to event organising will star in the 7th season of MTV’s hit dating show, ‘Are You The One?’.
Are You The One? is a dating series that uses modern technology to help people find love, 20-plus single men and women try to find their perfect mates. A dating algorithm is used to help quantify compatibility, using a process that includes in-depth interviews, questionnaires and compatibility testing.
That data is used to identify the ideal pairs among the participants. But the results are kept a secret from the singles, who get to know one another socially and undergo weekly tests to try to pick their ideal mates while living together. If the mates they choose do not match that of the data, they must start their search over.
If all of the singles are able to match up with their predetermined partners, they share the largest cash prize ever awarded by an MTV show and walk away with a potential partner for life.
The son of hardworking Ghanaian immigrants, Kwasi is a book-smart overachiever with degrees in biology and public health. He is a catch, but his alter ego “Kwasi Beast” gets in the way of Kwasi establishing a successful relationship and it would be interesting how that plays out on the show.
While Kwasi is a sweet family-oriented guy, Kwasi Beast is flirtatious and the life of the party. Kwasi wants a woman that he can build an empire with and bring home to mom. To find the woman of his dreams, can Kwasi push Kwasi Beast to the side and let his sweet-natured side take the lead?
Kwasi was born and raised in New Jersey but was sent to Ghana when he was eight years old to experience the country for two years. He has always stood out in his endeavours. In high school, he was VP of his class and a three-sport varsity athlete (football, basketball and track).
He graduated from Montclair State University with 2 degrees a Biology and Public Health Degree and started throwing sold out events in 2013. Kwasi has done commercials for Budwiser, AlomoUsa, Nike. He has also modelled for Nike and Jordan.
“My name being Ghanaian as hell, Kwasi Opoku, I always said I will put a good representation out for Ghana. Whether it was through sport or through the events I host or throw; by playing our music or talking about the culture,” Kwasi says about representing the Ghana in him!
