MP for Kintampo South, Felicia Adjei celebrates and inspires women

The Member of Parliament for Kintampo South, Felicia Ajei has celebrated women in her constituency and around the world with heart warming message to mark International Women’s  Day.

In press statement, the MP said:

“I want to use this opportunity to salute our hardworking mothers, grandmothers, wives, sisters and daughters in Ghana and kintampo south constituency in particular as we join the international community to celebrate international women’s day.

As a member of Parliament for the good people of Kintampo as a mother it is my hope that we use today to reflect on the challenges facing our girls in schools, women at workplaces, our mothers at home and the general abuse that women go through so that adequate measures can be put in place to restore the dignity of the girl child.

I want to appeal to the various stakeholders including Chiefs, Community Leaders, Pastors, Imams, Fathers and Mothers in our various communities to make the education of the girl child the number one priority and also preach against abuse of the fundamental human rights and freedom of women.

The woman is the backbone of the house and must be respected at all levels especially in our   workplaces. All forms of domestic abuse including rape, defilement, physical abuse etc must be reported to the law enforcement agencies for prompt action to be taken.

Once again l wish all women in the world a Happy international women’s day.”
