Music pays if you invest in it — Mock Sin

Published

on

IN a bid to blow and blow well, Afrobeat musician, Mock Sin believes investing in music even as a young artiste is the way to go.

For him, investing in one’s craft is not about just pomping in money but as a young act, one should invest in good lyrics, rehearse with a live band often, spend time in the company of music experts among others.

“Hardly do you see young musicians investing in their craft. This is because they think they are not yet there to be putting money and hardwork in their music. It is only a few artistes who put in their all because they know what they stand to benefit at the end of it all.

“ As a young artiste, you need to spend. I am not talking even about money. You need to invest in good lyrics, rehearse with a band, spend time with those already in the business to learn from them etc.
“The likes of Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, KiDi, King Promise and Kuami Eugene are making it because they have invested in their music. They understand that music is business and if you spend, you will reap well from it,” he told Graphic Showbiz in an interview

On how he is building his craft, Mock Sin born Moses Mocksin Clement said he is always rehearsing with a band to get his stage craft on point and works with a team of music experts who study his lyrics and everything regarding his brand.

“I don’t just get up and do things on my own. My team and I brainstorm about what I should do out there, be it music videos, pictures I post on social media and my songs. I don’t want to settle for less,” he said.

Right now, Mock Sin is promoting his new single, God No Go Shame Us recorded by Soja Beat which is about life and having faith in God. He sings that God will not shame anyone who puts their trust in Him.
Mock Sin who is planning some collabos with some of the A-list musicians has to his credit other songs such as We All Go Make Am featuring Kwame Yogot, Show Dem, Thunder Fire Corona and The Matter.
