My complaint wasn’t a staged attempt to hype ‘Samini’s show’ – Wiyaala Clarifies

Ghanaian Afro-pop sensation, Noella Wiyaala Nwadei, widely known as Wiyaala has clarified her stance on the flyer for Samini’s event, emphasizing that her concerns were not for publicity but a matter of principle.

It will be recalled that a controversy arose when the ‘LENO’ hitmaker noticed her picture was positioned in a seemingly subordinate manner on the promotional material, prompting her to express her dissatisfaction.

The ‘Lioness Of Africa’ further threatened to withdraw from the upcoming event if the organizers refuse to do something about the flyer.

“Honestly, I’m not pleased with this poster going around on social media. Put my picture in the right spot or I’m out. I’m not a backup artist,” she wrote.

However, to calm the songstress and put an end to the brewing controversy on social media platforms, Samini extended an unconditional apology, clarifying that he was unaware of the artwork’s circulation.

Samini to a greater extent expressed his admiration for Wiyaala’s talent and emphasized that the placement of her image was not intended to reflect her status as a performer.

In an interview with Hitz FM’s Doreen Avio, Wiyaala clarified that her outburst was not a strategy to ‘hype’ the show but to ensure the right thing was done.

“First of all, it is not a strategy to hype the program. If I am going to hype a programme, I will do the right thing. I am not one of the artists who likes to be controversial, I don’t need that. I have never used that but I have always managed to sell out my shows wherever I go” she said.

She further asserted that her reaction was ‘not to start any fight between nations or camps.’
