Naomi Campbell turns 50!
British superstar model, Naomi Campbell turns the big 50 today.
Since her discovery into the modelling scene at age 15, Naomi has established herself amongst the most recognizable and in-demand models of the late 1980s and the 1990s and was one of six models of her generation declared supermodels by the fashion industry and the international press.
Naomi has covered every prestigious magazine in the world and has dominated every runway with her elegant catwalk.
Naomi is not afraid of joining the 5-0 club.
“I’m embracing being here, living, breathing,” she states. “All the simple things we took for granted now matter so much more than ever before,” she told Essence in a recent interview.
And she’s on a mission to ensure that the fashion industry is one of “diverse and equal opportunity.” As a part of that mission, she means to “change the narrative and perception of the great continent of Africa.”
“I do believe that I will rest when God wants me to,” she shared last year on Instagram. “But until then, I’ll keep going,” she added.
