One of the veteran rappers from Nigeria’s South-South, Cyrus Tha Virus recently released his sophomore album, ‘Rebellion’ and has received thousands of downloads worldwide in just a few weeks. A 15-track plus 3 bonus cuts, hardcopy of the album will be released in April at the Oxygene Bar & Lounge in Benin City. The album has been described as a hard-hitting commercial and street rap album. <<<LISTEN>>>

Meanwhile, the Bengazi Boys Music signed rapper is also out with two brand new singles which are a continuation of where he left off on the Rebellion album. ‘Lau Lau’ featuring The Empress Nyore is street anthem that talks about rising from nothing to becoming the talk of the streets. While ‘Original Edo Boy’ is more than just a rap song; it is a roll call of respectable and illustrious sons of Edo State.

The two new singles will however not be on ‘Rebellion’ album. It’s just a follow up after the release of the album. The album includes songs like ‘Busy Body’, ‘You Wicked’ and “I AM Remix’. ‘You Wicked’ is a party single with a playful hook revealing the naughty mindset of Nigerian youths in the club scene, while ‘Busy Bod’ is a sultry R&B/rap love song about the kind of love that weathers all storms.

Cyrus Tha Virus was a participant in the 2008 MTV Base Advance Warning Competition alongside the likes of MI, and Durella who emerged winner.  He was  also nominated for Next Rated Act in the 2008 Hip-Hop World Awards but lost out Wande Coal.
