Nollywood Stars Attend Late Saint Obi’s Candlelight Service

A candlelight service has been held in honor of the late Nollywood actor who doubled as a film producer and director, Obinna Nwafo,  popularly known as Saint Obi, three months after his sudden death.

The event which was held  last  Friday, August 11, 2023, at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos State saw a solemn gathering of family, friends and loved ones, who were on hand to pay homage to the late movie icon.

Among loved ones who were gathered to mourn the late actor were Nollywood figures  such as  Victor Osuagwu, Charles Okafor, Emeka Rollas,  Segun Arinze, Lilian Bach amonst other personalities.  During the ceremony, the late  Saint Obi’s children took Bible readings at the service, while gospel singer, Frank Edwards, rendered some solemn songs. A short documentary of the actor was also previewed.

Saint Obi, who has stared in movies such as Candle Light, Sakobi, Goodbye Tomorrow, Heart of Gold, Festival of Fire, Executive Crime, and Last Party, amongst others passed away at the age of 57 on Sunday, May 7, 2023, in Jos, Plateau State. Reports indicated that the actor died at the home of one of his siblings.

Meanwhile, the family of Saint Obi have announced that his funeral service has been scheduled for August 18th.
