OSP drops all cases against Cecilia Dapaah
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has withdrawn all legal actions against former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah.
This includes dropping an application to freeze her assets and a criminal case for alleged failure to declare assets as required by law. Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng personally withdrew the cases at the Financial and Economic Crimes Division of the Accra High Court on Thursday morning.

Subsequently, Justice Nana Brew ordered the OSP to release all seized assets from Cecelia Abena Dapaah within 72 hours. During the proceedings, Agyebeng initially requested a private hearing, but Justice Brew insisted on an open court session due to the case’s urgency.
Since July 2023, the OSP and the former minister’s legal team have been in litigation. The OSP initiated investigations following allegations of corruption and related offenses, spurred by claims that Dapaah harbored over $1 million at her residence. This followed the arrest of two housekeepers accused of theft at Dapaah’s residence in Accra.
