Photos: First Israeli Film Festival opens in Accra

isreali film festival (1)The first Israeli Film Festival has opened in Accra with the screening ‘Footnote’  at the Silverbird cinemas on Thursday evening.  The festival aims ro givee movie lovers a window into the Israeli culture with carefully selected award winning Israeli movies from the past decade ranging from action, comedy, drama, family and romance. The launch was opened with the Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, H.E Sharon Bar-li and  Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare both highlighting the importance of film and how films can sell the cultures of both countries. Other guests included Samia Nkrumah, Kwaku Sakyi Addo, Nana Adwoa Awindor and a host of other dignitaries. The opening, ‘FOOTNOTE’  is a piercing satire, a poignant family drama and an investigation of the competing claims of honesty, loyalty, ambition and love directed by Joseph Cedar.
