His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo has been named as the special guest for the finale of the 2023 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).

 

On Saturday, October 28th, the official Twitter handle of NSMQ shared that the President will their special guest at the finale which is set for today, Monday, October 30th, 2023.

While the NSMQ has garnered quite a following over the last few years, patrons of the prestigious event were not enthused about the special guest of honor.

The announcement has since been with mixed reactions on Twitter.

In 2011 they couldn’t host this event because of issues with financing.

2023, it’s easily the biggest national event and graced by the president (possibly starting a tradition of the president gracing the finals?)

Three schools; Opoku Ware School, Presec Legon and Achomota School are heading to the finals to battle it out.

All three schools in the finale have been winners before; Presec, the current titleholders are hoping to secure their crown.
