DSC 4463The Stars of the Future night of African music over the weekend saw spirited performances from the five remaining contestants. Apart from being a night of tribute to the award winning OSIBISA band, the audience was treated to several carefully selected hit songs from diverse parts of the continent. There were, therefore two set of performances from each contestant. The first was a composition by the internationally acclaimed OSIBISA band followed by another African composition.

Noella continued with her amazing showing in the competition on the night with a spectacular performance of the OSIBISA classic ‘Welcome Home’. She returned to complete what was described as a fantastic showing with a great performance of Yvonne Chaka Chaka’s ‘Thank you Mr. DJ for playing my song’.

Daniella had a perfect night, first doing an exclusive rendition of ‘Patapata’ originally composed by OSIBISA. Her second performance of Asa’s ‘Bibanka’ went well with the patrons on the night who couldn’t resist joining the talented singer.

After an unimpressive performance of the OSABISA song ‘Woyaya’, Kwame came back stronger to grab the shine and attention with his second performance. With a great stage craft, he got the entire auditorium going with him as he performed ‘Zo Blazo’ by Freddie Meiway.

Emmanuel had a great time as he performed ‘Warrior’ by OSIBISA then ‘Ekwe’ by Onyeka Onwenu much to the appreciation of the audience. It was another splendid moment when Kaki came out to perform ‘Kpatonga’ by Angeli Kudjoe and OSIBISA’s ‘Celebration’.

The competition continues with the final eviction this week. Who makes the cut for the Top 4 Finale later this month? Stars of the future season five is sponsored by MTN with support from Somovision LG, Close Up, Vodka Kick, Koala, Spa 216, GTP and shows on Television Sunday at 1:30PM on GTV and 3PM on e.TV.
