South African High Commission announces visa-free access to South Africa for Ghanaians

Published

on

ghana sa

Starting from November 1, 2023, Ghanaians with ‘ordinary’ passports will be able to visit South Africa for up to 90 days each year without the need for a visa.

This agreement follows South Africa’s 2018 announcement to establish visa waiver agreements with various countries, including Ghana.

The South African High Commission in Ghana confirmed the implementation of the visa exemption, simplifying travel for ordinary passport holders. This move is expected to boost tourism, business, and cultural exchanges between the two nations, fostering stronger ties and cooperation. It marks a significant step in enhancing diplomatic relations between South Africa and Ghana, promising more accessible and flexible travel opportunities.
