Genevive Kim BibbyTalented South African songwriter and house singer, Genevive Kim Bibby is set to announce the winner of a house producers’ competition at Hush night club on Thursday night during an event hosted by Blaque Magazine.

The competition has been running on South Africa’s prime music website, MIO, over the past few weeks. It aims to give young and upcoming producers a rare opportunity to produce a hit song and music video for the sassy singer’s debut album. The competition drew over 180 entries from aspiring producers from across Southern Africa. Judges include Lolhiphop Records founder and singer Wax Dey, House and R&B superstar RJ Benjamin, as well as MIO’s Phash.

“Competing producers are judged on the musicality, commercial value and relevance of their entries, but the ultimate aim is to find a producer whose beats encapsulate the essence of Genevive’s personal style as an artist, in the hope of establishing a long-term working relationship,” says Wax.

Genevive shot to fame with hit songs such as ‘I don’t care’ with Dj Giggs Superstar and ‘I got love for you’ with Dj Rowick Deep. She has teamed up with Lolhiphop Records and Calea Productions to work on her debut album, and not less than five producers from the MIO competition will be featured on the much anticipated album.

“There is a wealth of music out there waiting to be discovered, and I am really thrilled to be in a position to give a chance to these young producers. But for me, it is also a learning curve, as they are able to inject a lot of new ideas into the industry,” says Genevive.

The winner’s announcement will take place during the launch of Blaque Magazine’s new website at HUSH, an event that will feature performances by Dj Rowick Deep and Genevive herself.

In a culinary spectacle that captured the attention of food enthusiasts in Ghana and worldwide, Ghana’s Chef Faila’s bid for the longest cooking marathon has taken an unexpected turn as the Guinness World Records (GWR) committee has disqualified her attempt.

The seasoned chef, born Failatu Abdul Razak, aimed to surpass the existing record record for continuous cooking, showcasing endurance and tremendous cooking skills.

The disqualification hinged on adherence to predefined guidelines, a crucial aspect of GWR endeavors.

In a statement shared on Facebook on Sunday, March 3, 2024, the culinary sensation, despite the unfortunate news conveyed her appreciation for the overwhelming support received throughout her culinary endeavor.

“A statement from the Records Management Team cited a violation of the rest break rules, resulting in an unsuccessful attempt,” the statement said.
Regardless of the setback, GWR commended Chef Faila and encouraged her to pursue future record attempts.

Although this attempt did not result in a world record, it has been an invaluable experience. I am proud of the dedication and hard work put forth, and I am committed to continuing to push boundaries in the culinary world,” she added.
