‘Star Wars’ actor Ewan McGregor to give ex-wife half of movie, TV royalties in divorce
Ewan McGregor has to give his ex-wife half of the multi-million fortune he earned during his acting career including his blockbuster “Star Wars” movies, according to reports of their contentious divorce.
The “Trainspotting” star agreed to split with Eve Mavrakis any of his royalties from all of the movies and TV shows before their breakup in May 2017 — when the star was seen kissing “Fargo” co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead — according to a judgment seen by People magazine.
It also includes half the $3,000,000 he earned for “Christopher Robin” which came out in 2018, a year after the high-profile split, the mag said.
As well as splitting all residuals and royalties from his career — which along with four “Star Wars” flicks includes notable hits like “Moulin Rouge” — McGregor agreed to a hefty monthly payout to his ex-wife of 22 years.
He’ll pay Mavrakis $35,868 per month in spousal support as well as $14,934 per month in child support, according to the mag, a previous sticking point in the breakup.
While McGregor will keep a collection of 30 vehicles, his ex gets five as well as their $6.62 million L.A. home, all of her jewelry and $501,704 in cash to even out the asset split, according to TMZ.
The couple were appointed joint legal and physical custody of their 9-year-old daughter Anouk their youngest of four kids —and agreed to continue to “have a flexible custodial schedule to accommodate” their daughter, the report stated.
They have three other daughters — Esther, 18, Jamyan, 19, and Clara, 24, who hit headlines when she called her dad’s new love Winstead “a piece of trash” in an Instagram comment.
McGregor met Mavrakis, a French-Greek production designer, on the set of “Kavanagh QC,” in 1995.

Social Trends: Alicia Keys & Jay-Z Tease New Collab

NEW SONG
🚨COMING SOON 🚨pic.twitter.com/WKmnJ0Yn2p
— NFR Podcast (@nfr_podcast) June 15, 2024
The announcement has sparked excitement among fans, with many expressing anticipation for the upcoming song.
“Empire State of Mind” is a song performed by American rapper Jay-Z featuring American singer Alicia Keys from the former’s 11th studio album, The Blueprint 3 (2009). It was released on October 20, 2009. Produced by Al Shux, the song features a music sample of “Love on a Two-Way Street” performed by The Moments. Angela Hunte and Janet Sewell-Ulepic originally wrote it as a tribute to their hometown, New York City.
The following month, they submitted it to Jay-Z’s label Roc Nation, whose reviews were discouraging. They later took the suggestion of an associate of EMI Music Publishing and resubmitted it to Jay-Z, who kept the “New York” singing part on the hook, changed the verses, and recorded it. The song’s title, similar to “New York State of Mind” by Billy Joel and “N.Y. State of Mind” by Nas, is a wordplay and tribute to New York’s nickname “Empire State” and could also be a reference to the Empire State Building in Manhattan.
