UK based Ghanaian international singer and performer, Princess Akua Ohenewaa Asieanem, well recognized as Stephanie Benson, has opened up on a couple of instances that almost caused her marriage to breakdown.

The award-winning singer, who will be celebrating her 34th year of marriage to her husband, John, revealed that their marriage has not always been rosy.

According to her, although John can never leave her, there have been times she has almost given up on their love.

In an interview with Ameyaw Tv’s Zeinat, Mrs Benson outlined three circumstances in her marriage with John that almost made her exit.

‘‘For him (John), never, he can’t live without me, look at me saying this confidently, but I think for me there’s been just this one, two, three times when I had my first – two children, his mother really annoyed me, it wasn’t something he did, and I was getting used to the family and whatnot and I just packed my bags and I took the two kids and we had a house in Italy and I just went and he didn’t know where I was and that was bad, that was just the young me, a little crazy and he apologized and I thought I had to grow up,” she told host Zeinat.

‘‘And the other time was when he bought a company and he didn’t tell me about it because we share everything and he didn’t tell me, I think he said he was trying to set it up and all that and I got pissed off with him and I think then I also just run off, but yeah I had those moments.

‘‘And the last one was when I wanted to buy something and he said No, and it was just tactics I didn’t mean it, but No, never seriously that I would leave John, we love each other too much, she said.

Stephanie and John’s love is a forever kind, as they have stayed together through thick and thin, and raised five beautiful children in the process.
