Talent show for the blind coming soon to Ghana

In the ever-growing world of reality TV series and talent shows, there has been an obvious lack of effort to discover talent amongst the disabled in our society. One such show which aims to discover talent among the visually impaired in Ghana has been launched. This first-ever Blind Talent Show according to the organizers, Spring Consult, is themed:   Our Talent lies within.

Ofei Aferi , CEO of Spring consult comments: “The benefits of such a show to the blind and the public can not be overlooked.  The first is to unearth the talents of the blind in Ghana. It is also targeted at improving the economic situation of those involved and their other social needs. For instance the show attempts to take these blind people off the street and create a livelihood for them through gainful employment.”

Some of the activities the show would unearth include singing, drumming, dancing, mastery of musical instruments, among others. Auditions will begin in August 2010 and the show will kick start in October 2010 at the Alliance Française.
