The camp of Ghanaian rapper, Amerado has taken a bold step in addressing what he perceives as an oversight by tmTelecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) board.

The team of the talented artiste has petitioned the board concerning the exclusion of his hit song “Kwaku Ananse” from the most popular song category.

It will be recalled that after the nominees announcement by the organizers of the awards on March 28, 2024, Amerado, took to his social media pages to question
question the organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards[TGMA] Charterhouse why they failed to nominate his popular song, “Kwaku Ananse”.

Amerado bagged two nominations on the night. Kwaku Ananse Remix – Amerado ft Fameye earned a place in the best collaboration category while The Hardest – Amerado earned a place in the best rap performance. But the original version of his popular tune “Kwaku Ananse” failed to earn a nomination.

In a tweet on X, the versatile rapper could not comprehend why regardless of the popularity of his song, it did not earn a nomination in any category.

“Dear @GHMusicAwards, Why was Kwaku Ananse (original) not nominated?” He questioned

However, Robert klah, the head of public events and communication for TGMA, in an interview with Hitz FM’s Andy Dosty, disclosed that the camp of the rapper has officially petitioned the board over the omission. He noted that Amerado’s appeal is under review and will be considered for inclusion if it merits it.
