Shukri Toefy is an entrepreneur, investor, film producer, speaker and co-founder and CEO of Fortified Group – an award-winning independent, creative content and production network, with head offices in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Shukri holds a degree in Law and Politics from the University of Cape Town, an Executive MBA from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business, and has the distinction of being Entrepreneurship Expert at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

The fundamentals of Shukri’s approach to business was galvanised by the founding of FORT, a business originally created to pay back student loans that today is one that empowers and drives change. Over a decade later, Shukri launched a pioneering shared prosperity model in which FORT donated 1% percent of the company to its community trust, Hold The FORT, as well 10% to its employee fund.

Shukri has been recognised as a Young Global Changer, and invited to the G20 Global Solutions Summit in Berlin, marking a shift from business leader to global keynote speaker.

As a strategic advisor, Shukri’s focus has been on entrepreneurship, business model innovation, storytelling, shared value, and private and public policy on economic and social development. This strategic insight is tangibly realised by Shukri’s most current focus – his ability to identify and grow some of the most exciting growth businesses and start ups
