A YouTuber, also known as a YouTube personality or YouTube content creator, is a person who produces videos on the platform, often with the objective of growing a community.

Any person can publish a video on YouTube but only the ones who are able to build a community interested in their content and work can be considered as successful YouTubers.  They create and share original content, they create personalized content and they are close to their followers.

Nigerian food and lifestyle blogger Sisi Yemmie is one of Nigeria’s top content creators, captivating her audiences across platforms.  Her YouTube channel, SisiYemmieTV shows people how to cook the most delicious Nigerian Foods and more.  She also sprinkles bits of Lifestyle Content on topics such as Lagos Life, Mum Life, Advice, and Career.  She has 466k and 44,6 million views so far.

8. Dan Mace

Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, Dan Mace is a multi-award-winning director, filmmaker, and Youtuber.  His channel features original content centered on his travels as an African in the US.

With a sensitive style, graphic aesthetics and inspirational narratives, he tells stories that showcase the power of perception and challenge the way people interpret life.  Rated as South Africa’s top-earning YouTuber, Dan Mace currently has 785K subscribers, 35.1 million views.

7. Lasizwe Dambuza

Thulasizwe Siphiwe Dambuza, known professionally as Lasizwe, is a South African television personality, social media personality, radio host, comedian, actor, and YouTuber. He became a local internet celebrity by uploading videos of himself interpreting how South Africans act on social media. He has 529K subscribers and 60.1 million views so far.

6. Ofentse and Nelisiwe Mwase

Ofentse Mwase Films is a YouTube channel run by a married couple Ofentse and Nelisiwe Mwase, based in Johannesburg South Africa. The channel has 567K subscribers and 93.2 million views already.

5. Tomilola Adenuga

Tomilola Adenuga is the CEO of Tomi’s Colour Pavilion. She is a Digital Content Creator, Image and Brand Building Consultant, Fashion and Beauty Blogger.  She shares videos generally on Beauty, Skincare, DIY, Home Hacks, Natural Beauty, Weightloss, and occasionally a little bit of Fashion on her YouTube channel which has over 703k subscribers and  123.4 million views so far!

4. Berthold Kobby Winkler (Wode Maya)

Wode Maya is a Vlogger who is on a mission to change negative narratives about Ghana and Africa. He has traveled widely across Africa, promoting positive stories about people doing amazing things, beautiful destinations, and more.  Maya gained notoriety when, as a Ghanaian student at the Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU), his video simply titled “Problems Black People Face In China” went viral. It was a recording of one of his bus commutes, on his phone, where the seat beside him remained empty while numerous Chinese passengers decided to stand instead. He has 643K subscribers on YouTube with over 100.9 Million views

3. Michael Jamison

Michael Jamison is a South African YouTuber famous for his love for his over 50 pets including dogs, cats,  monkeys, and tigers. He lives in a large, modern style house with a large outdoor area that is divided up into the tiger area, monkey house, dog area, and general area. He has a girlfriend named Jackie Smit who can be seen in some videos. Many viewers love Micheal for his very positive and calm personality.  He has 1.05M subscribers and 421.7 million views so far.

2. Millard Ayo

Afrael Millard Ayo is one of the biggest online personalities in East Africa. The Tanzanian presenter, journalist, and blogger owns millardayo.com. In addition, Millard owns a channel on YouTube called Ayo TV. The channel provides a variety of information and acts as an Internet TV. He became famous for the urgency of providing timely information on events such as politics, sports, and entertainment.  He has 3.25 million subscribers on YouTube with 1. 1 billion total views so far.

1.Mark Angel

Mark Angel is a Nigerian comedian, scriptwriter, and video producer. He is best known for the Mark Angel Comedy series of shorts on YouTube, often featuring child comedians such as his cousin, Emmanuella Samuel, who is usually referred to as his niece, and her cousin “Aunty” Success Madubuike. .  He currently has two huge channels on YouTube. Mark Angel TV with 783k subscribers, 93.9 Million Views,  and MarkAngel Comedy is 7.2 million subscribers,1.6 billion views.
