<![CDATA[Reality TV, hmm, nothing is predictable! Sunday evening’s edition of the Vodafone Icons: Mixed Edition saw producers being forced to bring back a contestant who originally missed out on the Top 24 cut. Unlike the case of The X Factor USA where eventual winner, Melanie Amaro missed out on the top 16 cut and was called back by Simon Cowell to make up a surprise Top 17, one of the Icons 24 finalists couldn’t continue the journey for personal reasons. Perez Lamptey received a surprise knock on his door from Icons host, Benny Blanco who brought the news that Elliot from the Top 24 couldn’t continue in the competition and so he(Perez) was being called into boot camp to fill the vacancy. The excited aspiring singer immediately packed his bags, said his farewells and moved into boot camp. There were some more similarities with The Xfactor USA when the Icons Music Director, Kwame Yeboah spent several days in the ‘Icons mansion’ in a fashion similar to when the Xfactor judges met with their mentors in their various homes. Kwame Yeboah spent three days of bootcamp with the finalists, paying attention to their various vocal strengths and weakness. He finished it off by grouping the finalists into various groups of 4, and listening to them perform various song accompanied by his piano. Kwame Yeboah is a music composer, producer and performer, who has performed with intentional music stars such as Craig David and Steve Wonder later joined Icons Judges, Ms Naa and Appietus to form the final 8 groups of 3. Next week, the groups will pick up their names and start battling it out for the ultimate prize]]>
