<![CDATA[13-year-old Ruth Ama Gyan-Darkwa, the youngest student to ever receive admission to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has commented on how she found herself university at the tender age.
In an interview with GhOne, 13 year old Ruth related how she started school and literally spent a term or two in various classes, this supposedly due to her ability learn quickly.
According to Ruth, after spending only one term in primary class 4, she went to class five, and was skipped to JHS 1 and “tried” the BECE in that class and passed.

According to her father, Mr. Kwadwo Gyan-Darkwa, Ruth isn’t the first of his children to have exhibited such academic prowess, and that his son is likely to do just as well. He said: “A lot of investment goes into it. Getting teachers, taking their time, making sure that they do the right thing at the right time, making sure that they don’t just play anyhow, anytime, anywhere…”“Every book that they need to get, I’ll buy it for them. If I have to sell my things, my belongings to buy it for them, I do. When they’re out there people think their father is rich, or their mother. No, we’re not rich, but we’re serious” concluded Mr. Kwadwo Gyan-Darkwa.

According to Ruth, after she’s done with her first degree, she’d like to go study outside the country and take up space engineering or something that has to do with space.
