Watch: Afrobeats is taking over, pay more attention to it – Rapper Cardi B
Award-winning American Rapper Cardi B has called on international award schemes to pay more attention to Afrobeats music as it is currently dominating the music scence all around the world.
Speaking in an Instagram Live video, the ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker said: “All these awards shows are not even honoring these Afrobeats artists. I don’t even know if they know the genre exists”
“They’re not bringing the light to something that is taking over so crazy, like Afrobeats is taking over so f****king crazy,” she added.

Speaking of Afrobeats sounds taking over the world, Nigerian superstar, Burna Boy picked up the award for “Best International Act” at the 2019 BET Awards which took place inside the Microsoft theatre in Los Angeles.
