Watch: Yamoransa Model Computer Lab 6 gets dedicated in Peki to boost learning of AI, Robotics and ICT in Ghana

As part of plans to increase the learning of AI, Robotics and ICT in Ghana, the Friends of Yamoransa Foundation and HelpingAfrica foundation have dedicated an ultramodern computer lab in Peki Avertile in the Volta Region.

The fully equipped information communications and technology center includes a 40-seat computer learning lab classroom with software and hardware to aid in teaching and learning.

A “Maker Space” where students learn to program robotics and coding and a well-built conference room for teacher training and workshops.

The facility which happens to be the sixth of the Yamoransa Model labs was officially unveiled to the chiefs and people of Peki in the Volta Region on Tuesday November 17th. Present are the event was the Paramount Chief of Peki, the Volta Regional Minister, members from the Ghana Education Service, the Municipal Chief Executive, a delegation from HelpingAfrica Foundation and Friends Of Yamoransa Foundation as well as students in Peki District.

Speaking at the dedication, Mr. Kafui A. Perrbie, founder of Techaide Ghana and Implementers (project managers), tasked community leaders and members to be responsible for the facility and to have it open at all times for the use of children in the disctrict.

He also introduced the 10-member committee organised to oversee the effective use and run of the facility.

The Yamoransa Model Lab 6 was named after Mr. Humphrey Ayim-Darke, Vice President of the Association of Ghana Industry for his contributions in the successful establishment of the facility.
