Ghanaian musician, Okailey Verse, popularly known as OV has revealed that her departure from Burniton Music Group really had a big toll on her life.

According to the former member of Stonebwoy’s BHIM family, she had big dreams of receiving mentorship from Stonebwoy, however, it was all cut short with no explanation.

OV explained in an interview with Zeinat Issahak on Ameyaw TV that when she emerged as winner of MTN hitmaker and the Burniton Music Label was pitched to her, she was excited because she had always wanted to work with the label boss, Stonebwoy.

However, after signing a 5-year-contract with Stonewboy in 2019, her dreams were cut short after just a year at the label.

“It felt surreal, it was something I didn’t expect. I personally wanted to be on BHIM ever since I was young. MTN Hitmaker pitched the label to me and it worked out. But before then, I had this cover of “Tomorrow” by Stonebwoy and it got me connected to him (Stonebwoy),” she stated.

When asked if she has finally gotten an explanation for why her contract was cut short by Stonebwoy, OV stated;

“I think you should ask him when you have the chance because I can’t answer,”

OV however added that, even if she had done something wrong to warrant the termination of her contract, there should have been a dialogue about it, rather than just cutting her off completely.

“Whatever you think I did, we can fix it or something (she said in pidgin). It was serious. It made me crazy, but life had to go on even though it put me through a particular state” she revealed.
