Menzgold boss, Nana Appiah Mensah arrives in Ghana

Embattled C.E.O of defunct gold-dealership Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM1 has revealed that contrary to the belief that Menzgold has not made any payments to their indebted customers, the company has paid out over 5000 customers.

According to NAM1, these payments have been done in the background, and is the result of the “sanity” in and around town.

NAM1 made this revelation while speaking on a Twitter Space hosted by Serwaa Amihere on Sunday August, 20.

“Contrary to the wrong notion out there that each time we have said we are making payments, we do not make payments. I can tell you on authority that based on the records I have seen, perused, we have paid over 5000 people. You see the sanity you see in and around town, it is by virtue of handwork in the background. We have paid people. We decided that we weren’t going to wait until we exhaust all the processes,” NAM1 explained.

This comes after the C.E.O and his company faced backlash on social media for requesting customers to purchase a GHC650 Menzgold Digital Verification Access Card in order to verify their transactions.

According to a statement signed by NAM1, this verification card will give “customers who believe they have genuine indebted transactions claims, to check their transaction status” and get paid accordingly.

Meanwhile, a customer of now defunct gold-dealership, Menzgold has taken the initiative to pay the proposed GHC 650 verification fees as part of the process to retrieving locked funds from the company.

In a screenshot that has now been shared widely on social media, David paid the GHC650 verification fee and this is what he was told;

The proposed date for David to finally get a payout from his investment has been set at no later than March 20, 2025.
