The Dumor and Allied Families have solemnly requested ‘utmost privacy’ following the heart-wrenching announcement of the passing of their beloved Daughter, husband, sister and mother, Mawuena Adzo Trebarh.
The families, in a statement issued on Friday, April 12, 2024, disclosed that the late Mawuena passed on to glory in the evening of Wednesday, 10th April 2024, after a recent period of illness.
They further stated that funeral arrangements for their beloved daughter will be announced in due time.
“Funeral announcements will be announced in due time. The family requests utmost privacy at this time,” the statement said.
This poignant plea underscores the family’s deep need for solitude as they navigate through this period of mourning and grief.
The late Mawuena was a Ghanaian businesswoman and was also the first female CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC). She was also the first female underground exploration geologist, amidst a 10,000 strong male-workforce mine-site in the Ashanti Region.
She was also the first female Board Chairperson of Movenpick Ambassador Hotel Ghana. Trebah has worked in both the private and public sectors. In 2020, she was named as the deputy spokesperson to the John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Election 2020 Campaign. She served as the spokesperson and Head of communications for the office of the vice-presidential candidate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.
The sister of late Komla Dumor is survived by her husband Flight Lieutenant Divine Trebah (Rtd), daughter, brother and father, Prof Ernest Dumor.

These accolades underscore the institution’s dedication to delivering cutting-edge banking solutions tailored to the needs of its diverse customer base.
The recognition comes amidst a period of sustained financial growth for First Atlantic Bank. First Atlantic Bank’s strong financial performance is further underscored by its robust balance sheet, posting an increase in shareholders fund of 1.26 billion cedis in 2023. This is an increase of 30% from 969 million cedis in 2022, reaffirming the institution’s financial stability and resilience.
The accolades received by First Atlantic Bank extend beyond the national stage, with the institution recently earning recognition as the Best Prepaid Card Bank in Ghana by Onafriq, a leading pan-African payments company. This acknowledgment highlights the bank’s efforts to promote financial inclusion and gender equality through innovative digital payment solutions.
Commenting on the achievements, a spokesperson for First Atlantic Bank emphasized the institution’s unwavering commitment to driving digital transformation and delivering superior banking experiences to its customers. “These accolades reaffirm our position as a leader in digital banking and underscore our dedication to innovation, financial excellence, and customer-centricity,” the spokesperson stated.
