<![CDATA[As the second season of Vodafone Icons, ‘Mixed Edition’, draws to a close this weekend, the question on the minds of the top 3 groups, their fans and the viewing public is who wins the ultimate prize of GHC 60,000, a Kia Rio, a one year management deal and an opportunity to perform at the Vodafone 020 Live? Will it be Vybes, Black N Peach or Waves? Although the decision is entirely for the public to make, I think I can safely make some predictions.
All three remaining groups at some point in the competition have been in the ‘Bottom 2’ position and faced the threat of elimination so I cannot predict how the public has been voting. However, based on the performances throughout the competition, I think the finale would be a straight battle between Black N Peach and Vybes. Both have been strong from the beginning of the competition, unlike Waves who seemed to have found their game only getting to the end of the competition.
Just like Black N Peach, Vybes has at least two consistently strong vocalists that carry the group unlike Waves that in my opinion has only one strong male vocalist. So who do I think will win the contest between Vybes and Black N Peach? It’s very close to call but I think Vybes might just knick it judging from public voting throughout the season; they were in the bottom only once. Black N Peach was saved back to back by the judges in the opening two weeks so perhaps their fan base hasn’t been that strong.
