During an interview on TV3’s Day Show with Berla Mundi, highlife legend, Amandzeba, stated that his popular song “Wogbe Jeke” should be considered a Gospel song.

He explained, “It’s a gospel song. Just where the part that you heard says, ‘From the beginning, God created us.’ So, if I sing about God creating us, isn’t that gospel? Isn’t that the truth?” Amandzeba stressed on the importance of truth in gospel music and how his song reflects the concept of divine creation.

Amandzeba shared his thoughts on Okomfo Anokye, suggesting, “If Okomfo Anokye was a white man, he would have been in the Bible by now.” He added, “He conjured the stool from the heavens. Why didn’t he go to some shrine and pull the stool out from there? He conjured it from heaven. It shows how powerful we have been.”
