Award-winning musician Worlasi will be holding his very first solo art exhibition in Accra this February.

The multi-talented artist, who has worked with the likes of Sarkodie, EL, Manifest and Sauti Sol, will be showing us a different side of his creativity by exhibiting original pieces at Thursday Lates, a monthly event run by Trybe, a new platform built for African creatives, and Kukun, a co-working space.

The event will take place on the 3rd February, from 6pm-10pm at Kukun in Osu, Accra. Entry is free and all artwork will be available for purchase. This is an original collection from Worlasi with pieces that will explore identity.

“Painting has always been a passion of mine, but “Painting has always been a passion of mine, but I’ve been torn between art and music ever since the beginning of my music career. I always felt like I’d abandoned my brushes, and that made me feel guilty. Now I feel like I’m reconnecting with my other self, I feel whole and I can’t wait for everyone to join me on this journey.”

Thursday Lates is a series of free art exhibitions at Kukun, Osu every first Thursday of the  month. This is the 4th edition of Thursday Lates. The first one was in October. The event is a collaboration between Trybe, a platform for creatives and Kukun, a cafe  and coworking space.

The aim is to highlight the work of new and emerging artists and provide them with an  opportunity to sell and network with other creatives and art lovers. Each month, one artist  has a solo exhibition at Kukun based around a theme.

Trybe is an online platform and community of over 1000 supporters bridging the gap  between businesses and creative freelancers through data-driven solutions. Our mission  is to solve the African creative industry’s biggest issues and provide paid opportunities for  creatives across the continent.

Every Tuesday we share paid opportunities for African creatives, since our launch in  August 2021, we’ve shared over 500 opportunities.
