Three Years after his debut album ‘Time’, Yaw Tog is set to release his sophomore album dubbed ‘Young & Matured’

Bursting onto the scene in 2020, Yaw Tog has been on a tear which has seen him drop consistent hit songs and features for audiences in Ghana, Africa and the the diaspora. A run that produced one of the most viral Ghanaian drill anthems, “Sore” which earned him a feature with multi-award-winning British artist, Stormzy as well as the BET-nominated Ghanaian artist, Kwesi Arthur. This year, Yaw Tog is poised to make more impact with his highly anticipated sophomore album, Young & Matured. The 12-track multi genre progression showcases Yaw Tog’s versatility, with him serving as the songwriter, artist and performer. The music audience will be captivated with each track, diving into a riveting experience loaded with dynamic flows, hard-hitting lyrics and addictive melodies. On this album, his pen bleeds with an unwavering purpose; to curb a narrative that has plagued him these past couple years; one narrative that stemmed from a question that everyone and even himself seem to ask —is he as good as he was when he debuted in 2020. With this body of work, Yaw Tog aims to not only put all those stories and depositions to rest but also clear all doubts in the minds of the listeners of his talents and growth as an artist.

Speaking on the sophomore album, Yaw Tog says, “This album is about my journey. Everything that has happened to me: the positives, the negatives, all the good, the bad and the ugly situations that I have experienced. These situations made me learn how to navigate the music industry and mature from those lessons. Everything you’ve heard about Yaw Tog from 2021; the pain, the joy, the disappointments, basically everything has made me grow not just as an artist but as a human as well.”

On Young & Matured, each track tells a unique tale as the next one; chronicling Yaw Tog’s maturation as an artist with a unique storytelling like no other. From the start of the album, listeners will be captivated with diverse tales of his journey showcasing profound personal growth. On Can’t Stop which features Sarkodie, Yaw Tog talks about perseverance and dedication, alluding to whoever is listening, that he’s not a quitter and won’t give up anytime. Obra which in Twi means “Life” and features South African artist, Roii, talks about the everyday struggles of life. This album is a chronicle of his growth and maturation with tales of the experiences that have shaped the very essence of the man that he is today.
