Veteran Ghanaian Highlife singer, Samuel Owusu has advised the youth who want to pursue music as a career to find a side hustle alongside what they are doing.

Speaking in an interview with Amansan Krakye, the ‘Abusua Kyiri Ka’ hitmaker who released his first album in 1992  averred that with his numerous years of music experience, he’ll advise that anyone who depends on music alone might end up being disappointed.

“I’ll advise any young person who wants to do music to go ahead and do it but they shouldn’t rely solely on the music that they are doing.”

“Apart from music I have other businesses so whenever someone comes to me that they want to do music, the first question I ask is, are you educated and what’s your level of education?” he questioned.

The renowned crooner further said, “Apart from that I ask them if they’ve learned a trade because the bottom line is that I always admonish them not to depend on music alone.

“They can go ahead and pursue their music career but they should find a job or side hustle that they can rely on because with music alone they might end up disappointed”.
